is tiring.
I spend most of my days sorting through jewellery: sorting into size, colour, shop stock, internet stock... Then counting everything I've sorted, bagging and labelling them seperately.
I find myself falling asleep in front of the T.V. a lot, before I've even had a chance to contemplate cooking dinner. I go to bed early (which is new) and wake early, happy and sunny, looking forward to work (which is, again, new...).
I attempt to answer customer's questions, which are vast and varied and make me feel like I'm a little bit underwater and there's seaweed going in my brain.
There isn't, of course. The shop is inland.
I try and answer each question before turning to Adam, Pete or Louise for rescue, and gradually start to feel like I do know what I'm talking about. I gain more confidence each day.
I live off Asda's own instant noodles and Sainsbury's basics lemon curd on toast.
And I love it.

An introduction

So I've been lucky enough to have wiggled my way into an apprenticeship as a body piercer, luckily for me at a shop that not only specialises solely in body piercings, but genuinely cares about all the aspects that go into making a good looking, healthy piercing.

My name is Lian, I'm 23 and I've been at the shop for around 3 months now; things are progressing quite quickly, so I thought I'd keep a journal that will progress as my work does.

Hopefully it will give some insight into the industry, for would-be piercers and anyone else interested in the way things work (or at the very least, the way we work...)
